Juggling a Soccer Ball – 20% Project Week Two

Hello again, my name is Grant and this is my second week of my 20% project. For this week, my goal was to get around eight to ten consistent juggles or higher. I ended up only getting around five consistent juggles, so for this week I didn’t reach my goal. I also I ended up getting a new high score of thirteen juggles which is great even though I didn’t reach my goal. It also was a little less hot this week so I wasn’t hot and tired like I was last week. Unfortunately for this week, I forgot to wear some less baggy pants. Because I was wearing baggy pants again, I was again a little slower. So next week I will wear some less baggy pants. If I remember to not wear baggy pants next week, I will hopefully reach my goal and go beyond. Hopefully next week I can do better and reach my goal of doing around thirteen to fifteen consistent juggles or higher.

My Favorite Room in my Home

My favorite room in my home is my room. My first reason why my room is my favorite room is because of my bed. It has a very comfy mattress with a nice sheet. I also have a nice, comfy, and soft pillow. I also love my bed as a whole because it’s where I sleep. My second reason why is because of my blackout curtains. They are nice and make my room completely dark at anytime of the day. They help have deep sleeps and nice dreams. They also help me fall asleep faster and sleep in longer. I also love just being able to sleep or take a nap at anytime of the day. My third and final reason why is because of how big my room is. My room has five bunkbeds, a futon, and a beanbag. I also have a closet and multiple dressers full of my clothes. I also have a TV that sits on a desk in my room. On top of all of that, I still have some room do walk freely, roam around, and room to play games with my friends or by myself.

Juggling a Soccer Ball – 20% Project Week one

Hello my name is Grant and for my 20% project I am learning how to juggle a soccer ball with my feet thirty times. This is my first week and my goal was to get a few juggles consistently or higher. I ended up with a few consistently like my goal so for this week, I met my goal. I also got new high score of twelve times juggling. I was surprised and happy that I met my goal and went beyond my expectations. One small struggle I had this week was because I was wearing some baggy pants, I think it made me a little slower and they were a little heavy. Because of this, I may have not done my best because I got a little hot and it wasn’t as easy. So next week, I will wear some normal pants or shorts. I ended at twelve juggles just like I said so I hope for next week I can get around fifteen or close to twenty juggles.

The Loch Ness Monster

Once upon a time, there was a boy who was visiting Scotland. In Scotland he and his family were exploring and sightseeing. Everything was fun and great. Until they went to the loch ness lake. There, they got an eerie feeling from the lake and around it. There was lots of fog, mist, and it was damp and cool. They could barely see ahead of them. After they were looking around for a little bit, they thought it was too gloomy and creepy so they started to go back to the car. After the family was almost all at the car, the boy stood there. His parents went over to check on him. They saw that he was frozen in place, staring straight at the lake. They tried talking to him and tapping on his shoulder, but he wouldn’t budge. They looked where he was looking, and they at first they saw nothing. But then. Out of nowhere, a long, skinny, and dark blue neck appeared out of nowhere in the distance. They were also shocked as it moved around until it slowly, and gently went back under the water. They were amazed at what they saw and were a little creeped out. Then, the boy stopped staring and he wasn’t frozen in place. They all went closer to where they saw it and surprisingly, it never came up again. That is the story of the loch ness monster.

Rad Reading – March

Over the month of March, I have read the book, Code of Honor by Alan Gratz.

This book is about a boy named Kamran. Kamran is in high school and is the star of his high school football team. He has a girlfriend and a best friend named Adam. Everything is going great, until something happens regarding his brother. His brother is making videos of himself talking about how he, Darius, a former ranger in the military, is now a terrorist in Al-Qaeda, who planned attacks on the US in Afghanistan. But, in the videos, he would leave some clues or a code that only Kamran and his brother can decipher and understand. A few people question him in a room and try to help him crack the code to save Darius and stop Al-Qaeda. Will they decipher and crack the code to save Darius and stop Al-Qaeda? Or will they be too late and will everything go wrong? Find out in my personal favorite, Code of Honor.

One thing I love about this book is the slow pacing. At first it can be a little slow and it may be even a little boring, but it eventually it gets more and more and more fun to read. Another thing I love about this book is the perseverance and faith that is in it. Throughout the book, Kamran shows his perseverance and doesn’t give up. Throughout the book, Kamran also shows his faith in his brother Darius, and Mickey Hagan. He uses this faith to believe in them and uses his perseverance to not stop believing in them.

My favorite character from the book Code of Honor is Mickey Hagan. He is my favorite character because he is one of the few people that has faith in Kamran. One quote proving this is one page one-hundred-forty-one where Hagan says, “I never stopped believing.” This proves he has faith in Kamran because not only does he say it, he actually shows it too.

My favorite quote from the book Code of Honor is on page eleven where Kamran says, “I didn’t care. It was worth it to defend Darius. He and I had a code. A code of honor. We looked out for each other, no matter what.” It is my favorite quote because I also have two older brothers whom I would do anything for and I would also look out for.

Three People I Would Invite to Dinner

There are so many people want to invite to dinner but these are my top three: Ulysses S. Grant, Leonardo da Vinci, and Jesus Christ. For my first person I chose Ulysses S. Grant. I picked him because, first of all I am named after him. Doesn’t everyone want to meet who they’re named after if they were? Second, I picked him because he was a great general. He was a great four star general who won almost all of his battles and wars. My last reason why I picked him is because he was also a great president. He was a great president because he supported the 15th Amendment which prohibited denying people the right to vote based on race, color, or previous condition of servitude. He also enforced the civil rights in the south and protected African Americans from violence. Lastly he also suppressed the Ku Klux Klan. For my second person I chose Leonardo da Vinci. I picked him because he was a painter, sculptor, architect, engineer, scientist, and an inventor and he was obviously very smart. Firstly, he was a great painter and painted multiple famous paintings. A couple of his most famous paintings were, the Mona Lisa and the Last Supper. Secondly, he was a great inventor. A couple of his inventions were the helicopter, and the parachute. Lastly, he also was a great scientist. One thing he did as a scientist was making precise anatomical drawings. Another thing he did as a scientist was designing and sketching various flying machines inspired by the flights birds. For my last person I chose Jesus Christ. I chose him because, firstly he is the son of God and the Lord. I have always wanted to meet him and ask him questions. He is the closest I could get to God and he is also very Holy. My second reason why I chose Jesus is because I would love to see him preform one of his miracles. Imagine how amazing for something incredible to happen right in front of your eyes. Lastly I chose him because I have always wanted to see what he looks like and how he sounds and speaks.

If I Could Have any job in the World

If I could have any job in the world, it would be to be an actor. For my first reason why I would be an actor is because I would enjoy the fame. Imagine walking down the street, and lots of people start realizing who you are and are excited to see you in real life. I always have wanted to be loved by millions of people around the world like most famous actors are. For my second reason why is because I also would enjoy getting paid a lot of money. My salary would be one-million dollars. With that money, I would buy nice clothes, shoes, computers, and iPhones. I would also buy a mega mansion by the beach. It would have a large garage with all of the Italian sports cars. For my third reason why is because I would love to be the main actor of big movies. Imagine having people watching the movie that you acted in. I always wanted to be a main part of a big movie.

If I was Invisible for Twenty-Four Hours

A magician has made me invisible for twenty-four hours. He gave me a potion that made me invisible. The first thing I would do is to rob a bank. I would do this because money is always helpful. I would use the money to put into stocks so I could save it for when I need it. The second thing I would do is go up to random people and hit them. Imagine how funny it would be to get hit by nothing and be left clueless. Some people would just probably either start laughing or would get mad and blame someone. The third thing would do is watch wild animals. Imagine how cool it would be to get right next to them without them running or flying away. I have always wanted to see how they act up close.

Rad Reading – February

Over the month of January, I have read the book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney.

The book is about a boy named Gregory Heffley and how he is in middle school where there all sorts of people. It is also is about how he meets his best friend Rowley and they go through the harsh middle school together. Can they make it together to the end of their grade? Or will something happen that will make it miserable? Find out in the book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney.

One thing I love about this book is how it is the first book. Another reason why is because it’s what started it all. It started from this first book, into a nearly twenty book series. I also like how he is not always happy and it makes me feel like it’s more realistic than most normal books.

My favorite character from the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid is Greg Heffley. He is my favorite character because he is funny. One quote proving he is funny is on page 20 where Greg says “Did you know then, if your hand is bigger than your face it’s a sign of “Low Intelligence,” and Rowley tries to test this out. This proves he is funny because after Rowley tries this, he slaps Rowley’s hand into his own face.

My favorite quote is on page two where the author says, ‘Like I said, I’ll be famous one day, but for now I’m stuck in middle school with a bunch of morons.’ This is my favorite quote because it is funny and below this line, it has a funny picture in his class where he is sitting in between these two older kids and above them, he wrote the word ‘morons’ and pointed to both of them.

Living on an Abandoned Island

Imagine being stuck on an abandoned island, thats my life right now. I was on a plane flight to Bahamas and it crashed. I was the only person who was alive as far as I could see. Luckily I found a piece of the planes wing and used it as a raft. I floated for days until in the far, I saw something. It was land! I started pushing the raft towards it until I got close enough to the island to get off. The island was pretty big and it had many palm trees. On the palm tree, there were coconuts. I thought to myself, I could use those for water and food. The water was tropical and warm so it was nice. I live on the bay side of the island where there is a bay and it has more palm trees than the other side. Every morning, I get up at around 8:00, and try to get up the palm tree to get the coconuts. I try many times and fail, until I finally get the coconuts. There are about a few coconuts every palm tree. After I got them, I came back down. Next I find a big rock, and hit the coconut hard on it until the outer layer is smashed. Then I break the last layer open on the rock, and I try to not spill too much water. After I am done with all of those steps, I open up the coconuts and drink the delicious, refreshing coconut water and I quench my thirst. Then I eat the meat of the coconut and I am no longing hungry. After all of that, I take a nap until around 7:00, then I get maybe one more coconut and then I repeat the process. Then I go to sleep and wake up in the morning again.
