Over the month of March, I have read the book, Code of Honor by Alan Gratz.
This book is about a boy named Kamran. Kamran is in high school and is the star of his high school football team. He has a girlfriend and a best friend named Adam. Everything is going great, until something happens regarding his brother. His brother is making videos of himself talking about how he, Darius, a former ranger in the military, is now a terrorist in Al-Qaeda, who planned attacks on the US in Afghanistan. But, in the videos, he would leave some clues or a code that only Kamran and his brother can decipher and understand. A few people question him in a room and try to help him crack the code to save Darius and stop Al-Qaeda. Will they decipher and crack the code to save Darius and stop Al-Qaeda? Or will they be too late and will everything go wrong? Find out in my personal favorite, Code of Honor.
One thing I love about this book is the slow pacing. At first it can be a little slow and it may be even a little boring, but it eventually it gets more and more and more fun to read. Another thing I love about this book is the perseverance and faith that is in it. Throughout the book, Kamran shows his perseverance and doesn’t give up. Throughout the book, Kamran also shows his faith in his brother Darius, and Mickey Hagan. He uses this faith to believe in them and uses his perseverance to not stop believing in them.
My favorite character from the book Code of Honor is Mickey Hagan. He is my favorite character because he is one of the few people that has faith in Kamran. One quote proving this is one page one-hundred-forty-one where Hagan says, “I never stopped believing.” This proves he has faith in Kamran because not only does he say it, he actually shows it too.
My favorite quote from the book Code of Honor is on page eleven where Kamran says, “I didn’t care. It was worth it to defend Darius. He and I had a code. A code of honor. We looked out for each other, no matter what.” It is my favorite quote because I also have two older brothers whom I would do anything for and I would also look out for.
